2014 Lexus LX 570: My What a Big Everything You Have [First Impression]

2014 Lexus LX 570

The 2014 Lexus LX 570 is a big, impressive luxury SUV from its exterior design to the interior trims to the way it feels to simply sit behind the wheel.

First, it’s just an imposing presence as it sits in your driveway, intimidating any other vehicle that dares share the space. Of course, that better be a small vehicle because the 2014 Lexus LX 570 is not in any way diminutive. It is large in every aspect of its design, including that big spindle grille. It seems to scream that size does very much matter.

The interior continues the whole bigger is better vibe with large, almost chunky knobs to control just about everything save the heated and cooled seats. Those buttons are very tiny, almost mocking your need to do something as silly as adjust the temperature of your rear end. This is an SUV made for getting out there and doing stuff, not being all genteel and fancy.

Yet, there is no mistaking that this is a true luxury SUV. There are leather seats and wood trim that is a particular standout on the dash and steering wheel. It adds just enough shine to the inside of the 2014 Lexus LX 570 to remind you that you’re in a luxury vehicle.

It boasts 383 horsepower and 403 lb-ft of torque from a 5.7L V8 with a 6-speed automatic transmission, so it’s no slouch, but it gets just 12/17 city/highway for a combined 14 MPG. It’s fuel economy numbers might be just about the only thing about this SUV that’s small.
