Video Review: The 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser the perfect car for the road less traveled

Where do you want to drive today?  With the 2011 Toyota FJ Cruiser the answer is just about anywhere. With the FJ, Toyota’s off-road legacy is safe.  Adventurous types will enjoy it’s 6-speed transmission and control when venturing off the beaten path.

A few of the things that stood out to me were it’s carpet free floors, water-resistant seating surfaces, three, count ’em three wiper blades, driver side front dashboard storage compartment and overall ‘fun’ factor.

Our newest member of the TFLcar team (Dave Erickson) found himself looking for places to go off-road just so he could climb over stuff with the FJ.  This vehicle will fit your personality if you live for the weekend and can’t wait to get outside and find the road less traveled, Dave reports.

Base price is just under $27,000.  To add all the special features you’re looking at $34,000.  You’re probably not going to buy the FJ Cruiser if gas mileage is your top priority.  Fuel economy tops out in the low 20’s on the highway but let’s face it you’re not looking to drive on the pavement.  If you’re shopping for a Toyota Crossover SUV with better gas mileage on the highway, I’d suggest the RAV4; 28 mpg.
